WALKER, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – As camping opens up at a downsized Moondance Jam, the window is closing for ticket holders to get full refunds after organizers canceled plans to bring in national touring bands for the three-day festival in Walker, Minnesota.
On Tuesday, July 16, organizers announced via social media that refunds would be processed after this weekend’s event. The deadline to request a refund is 5 p.m., Thursday, July 18, one hour after the first band of the weekend, Teddy Arunski, is scheduled to take the stage. Camping opened on Wednesday, July 17.
To request a refund, call Renee at (218) 836-1055. Tickets must be mailed back and postmarked by Friday, July 19, according to the post.
On July 1, organizers of the 36-year-old festival announced that due to “unforeseen circumstances based on the present economic climate,” they were not in financial shape to bring in the nationally known touring acts, including headliners Foghat, Kansas, and Creed. Other touring acts on the bill included former Journey lead singer Steve Augeri, Blue Oyster Cult, and Switchfoot.
Organizers announced that the festival would go on with regional acts. Tickets were listed at $200 for a three-day pass, with no single-day tickets available.
On July 3, festival owner Kathy Bielow announced, “a full refund will be available and honored.” She also invited fans to join her at what’s being rebranded as “Camp Moondance,” which will feature regional acts and games.
The new lineup of regional acts includes headliners Mallrats, Them Pesky Kids, and Arena. Tickets are now $25 a day or $60 for a three-day weekend pass.
“In spite of having to change the lineup, I am personally asking you to support me and our Moondance crew and join us at Camp Moondance being held on the same dates (July 18-20) at Moondance,” Bielow stated in the post.
