MARSHALL COUNTY, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – A 50-year-old man from Middle River, Minnesota has been charged with multiple counts of child sex abuse after two young girls came forward to report years of sexual assault.
Calvin John Rybakowski was arrested on September 9 and is being held on a $250,000 cash or surety bond. He faces charges in connection with the alleged abuse of an 8-year-old girl who reported that she had been assaulted by Rybakowski at his residence on August 28.
According to court documents, the victim told investigators that Rybakowski began abusing her when she was just six years old and continued to assault her until recently. When questioned about the allegations, Rybakowski allegedly claimed he didn’t remember anything because he had smoked laced marijuana on the night of the alleged abuse.
Just three days after his arrest, a second victim came forward to report that Rybakowski had also abused her when she was between 7 and 13 years old. The woman told investigators that Rybakowski raped her multiple times during this period and continued to try to make sexual contact with her until she hit him in the genitals and ran out of the room.
Rybakowski allegedly grew agitated when questioned about these allegations, claiming they were cleared up a long time ago and that people were just trying to get him. However, investigators reported that Rybakowski seemed attracted to younger girls and had admitted to having a problem with his behavior.
An omnibus hearing is scheduled for November 19 at which point the court will hear evidence in both cases against Rybakowski.
