Hubbard County, MN ( trfnews.i234.me) – A routine welfare check quickly turned into a high-speed police chase, ending in a dramatic arrest for Laurel J. Siebolds of Park Rapids—and that was just the beginning of her legal troubles.
According to court documents, on March 1, 2025, at 1:32 p.m., Hubbard County deputies responded to 112th Street south of Park Rapids, where a vehicle had been parked in the middle of the road for hours. As deputies approached, the vehicle suddenly took off, swerving dangerously.
Despite activating their lights and sirens, the suspect refused to stop, prompting law enforcement to perform a PIT maneuver to disable the vehicle.
Once stopped, deputies smelled alcohol on Siebolds, who admitted drinking vodka mixers the night before. As a field sobriety test was about to begin, she cut things short, telling the officer, “Just take me to jail.”
However, the real shock came inside the booking room at the jail—Siebolds pulled a liquor bottle out of her bra!
She is now facing multiple serious charges, including:
- Felony fleeing a police officer
- Gross misdemeanor DWI refusal to test
- Driving after cancellation
- Introducing liquor into a jail
With two prior DWI convictions, Siebolds could be looking at severe penalties if convicted.
