Starbuck (trfnews.i234.me) — Massive Agriculture Budget & Controversial State Flag Battle!
Minnesota lawmakers are making bold moves! Representative Paul Anderson from Starbuck is calling for a whopping $169 million agriculture budget, which includes $17 million dedicated to fighting bird flu and other urgent farming issues. Anderson argues that farmers face a long list of concerns, requiring immediate financial support.
The proposed agriculture budget is $18 million higher than Governor Tim Walz’s plan, signaling a major policy shift in agricultural funding.
Meanwhile, 22 House Republicans have stirred controversy by proposing a bill to reinstate Minnesota’s retired state flag. The old flag, which depicted a Native American riding away while a white settler plowed his field, was replaced last year on May 11, 2024, with a simpler blue-and-white design featuring Minnesota’s shape and a star.
If the bill passes, the historic flag could fly again at the State Capitol and official state properties starting May 11, 2026. The move has sparked heated debate between those who see the old flag as a historical emblem and those who view it as a problematic relic.
What do you think? Should Minnesota bring back its old flag?
