Baudette, MN (trfnews.i234.me) — A Boy Lake, Minnesota man is now facing multiple felony charges after a violent incident at a Baudette motel that led to his arrest near the Canadian border.
According to court documents, officers responded to the American Motel on February 23rd at 1:49 a.m., where a female victim reported being brutally attacked by George E. Mitchell Jr. She stated that after asking him to turn down the TV, he became violent, assaulted her, broke the phone when she tried calling 911, stole cash and cards from her purse, and fled with her van.
The victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance, while authorities began tracking Mitchell’s iPhone. They located him on the Canadian side of the Rainy River, where the stolen vehicle was stuck and he was hiding nearby.
Mitchell now faces four felony charges, including:
- Felony Assault
- Felony Theft of a Motor Vehicle
- Felony Threats of Violence
- Felony Domestic Assault by Strangulation
