Minneapolis, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me) — On April 30, 2025, Sophia Elizabeth Sullivan, 38, of Minneapolis, was involved in two separate hit-and-run incidents in the Uptown area, resulting in the death of one pedestrian and injuries to three others. Initially charged with multiple counts of assault and criminal vehicular operation, Sullivan now faces one count of second-degree murder and three counts of attempted second-degree murder following the death of one victim.
The first incident occurred around 6:19 p.m. at the intersection of 26th Street West and Grand Avenue South, where Sullivan allegedly ran a red light and struck two pedestrians in a crosswalk. Approximately five minutes later, at 26th Street West and Emerson Avenue South, Sullivan is accused of accelerating her vehicle into two more pedestrians. One victim was thrown approximately 30 feet, while the other was dragged under the vehicle and later died from her injuries on May 2.
Sullivan was arrested shortly after the incidents, and her vehicle was found near her residence with visible damage and blood evidence. She is currently held in Hennepin County Jail on $2 million bail, with her next court appearance scheduled for June 3.
