BELTRAMI COUNTY, MN (trfnews.i234.me) — A Minneapolis woman, 36-year-old Ramona Elaine Kaye King, has been charged with two counts of gross misdemeanor DWI in Beltrami County after allegedly driving under the influence of Schedule I/II controlled substances, according to court records.
The incident occurred just after midnight on January 27, 2025, when Officer Neal Warren of the Bemidji Police Department initiated a traffic stop on a black GMC SUV for equipment and traffic violations. King, the driver, was reportedly displaying glassy eyes, dilated pupils, and signs of impairment.
King admitted to being prescribed Suboxone and Adderall, though she expressed uncertainty about whether she should be driving while taking them. Field sobriety tests allegedly showed clear signs of impairment, and a subsequent blood test revealed the presence of buprenorphine, norbuprenorphine, and amphetamine.
The complaint notes King has a prior DWI-related license loss from December 24, 2021, and a criminal history that includes theft, drug possession, and dishonored checks. She had also been on warrant status for nearly three years before being taken into custody during this incident.
If convicted, King faces up to 364 days in jail and/or a $3,000 fine on each count.
