Hennepin County (TRF News) – Arrest Warrant Issued for Minneapolis Mother After Twin Babies Suffer Fentanyl Overdose
A Minneapolis mother is now wanted by police after her two-month-old twins were hospitalized for fentanyl exposure, requiring multiple doses of Narcan to save their lives.
Anghel Esperanza Brown, 25, is facing multiple felony charges after investigators found fentanyl-laced baby bottles inside her home.
Emergency Response: Twin Babies Found Unresponsive
On January 2, 2025, authorities were called to a Broadway Street Northeast residence for an infant struggling to breathe.
According to the Hennepin County criminal complaint:
- Paramedics rushed the first twin to Hennepin County Medical Center, where multiple doses of Narcan were needed to revive the child.
- Officers returned to the home for a welfare check and found the second twin also in distress.
- The second baby was rushed to the hospital, placed on a Narcan drip, and intubated.
Fentanyl Found in Baby Bottles—And a Third Child Exposed
Investigators tested two baby bottles found in the home—both tested positive for fentanyl.
Shocking further investigation revealed:
- A third child in the home, a two-year-old, also had fentanyl in their system.
Mother Admits Past Drug Use—Now Facing Felony Charges
Brown admitted to a history of fentanyl use but claimed she had not used the drug since giving birth to her twins.
She has been charged with:
- Two felony counts of child endangerment resulting in substantial harm
- One gross misdemeanor count of child endangerment
If convicted, she faces up to five years in prison on the most serious charge.
Arrest Warrant Issued – Brown Not in Custody
A warrant has been issued for Brown’s arrest, but she is not currently in custody.
Authorities are urging anyone with information on Brown’s whereabouts to contact law enforcement immediately.
