Minneapolis (trfnews.i234.me) – A devastating scene unfolded just after midnight Monday at a residence in the 2900 block of Colfax Avenue North, where Minneapolis police discovered a man and his two-year-old daughter dead from gunshot wounds in what investigators are calling a murder-suicide.
Police say the child’s mother was inside the home at the time but was not physically harmed. The man, believed to be in his 50s, was found with a firearm near his body.
Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara called the situation an “unimaginable, heartbreaking tragedy,” extending condolences to the family and the responding officers. Authorities say support services are being offered to all those impacted.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will release the names and official causes of death following family notification.
