Mille Lacs County, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me)On Sunday, April 13, 2025, at approximately 6:18 p.m., a serious head-on collision occurred on Highway 95 near milepost 22 in Princeton Township. A 2001 GMC Sierra, driven by 17-year-old Colton Robert Piekarski of Little Falls, was traveling westbound and attempted to pass another vehicle. Simultaneously, a 2023 Buick Enclave, driven by 67-year-old Vinette Sue Menshek of Princeton, was traveling eastbound. Both drivers swerved to the shoulder in an attempt to avoid a collision but ended up colliding head-on.

The Buick Enclave had two passengers: 40-year-old Jody Ann Kamann and an infant, both from Princeton. All four occupants involved in the crash, including the infant, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to M Health Fairview Northland Medical Center for treatment.

Additionally, a Good Samaritan who stopped to assist at the scene suffered a wrist injury while attempting to break a window to rescue the infant from the vehicle. He was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating the incident, with assistance from Mille Lacs County authorities, Princeton Police and Fire Departments, and AirCare services.

Did you know?

  • Minnesota law mandates that drivers must pass other vehicles only when it is safe and legal to do so, ensuring clear visibility and sufficient distance from oncoming traffic.

  • Head-on collisions, while less common, often result in severe injuries due to the combined speed of both vehicles at impact.

  • The Minnesota State Patrol emphasizes the importance of cautious driving and adherence to traffic laws to prevent such accidents.
