Thief River Falls, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – Michelle Jean Laird, 52, from Fosston, has been charged in Pennington County District Court for selling 17.293 grams of methamphetamine to an informant in November. She faces a felony first-degree controlled substance crime charge for sale with a subsequent conviction. The charge was filed on May 2, and a warrant has been issued for her arrest.
The charges stemmed from communications between a Pine to Prairie Drug Task Force officer and a reliable informant on Nov. 7. Laird allegedly sold 14.213 grams of meth to the informant for $400 in Goodridge. Later, on Nov. 26, she allegedly sold 3.080 grams of meth to the same informant for $150 in the Falls Cinema parking lot. Laird was positively identified as the seller in both instances. During an interview on Feb. 10 while in Pennington County Jail for an unrelated matter, Laird admitted to selling 56 grams of meth in Thief River Falls over the past month or two. Additionally, the complaint noted that Laird had previously been convicted of a third-degree controlled substance crime in Polk County on Oct. 24.
