Rebecca Jones was a Mexican actress known for starring in telenovelas.

Acting career

Born in Mexico, Jones grew up in the U.S. after her family moved to California during her childhood, but it was in her home country that she made her career. She returned to Mexico as an adult and made her acting debut in the early 1980s. Jones went on to star in popular telenovelas including “Cuna de Lobos,” “Dias de Combate,” and “Amorosas Fantasmas.” She won TVyNovelas Awards for her performances in “El Angel Caido” in 1986 and “Imperio de Cristal” in 1994. Though most of Jones’ career was in Mexican TV and cinema, she crossed over to a U.S. role when she played Lola across several episodes of the soap opera “Passions” in 2004. She also appeared in movies including “Tercera Llamada,” for which she was nominated for an Ariel Award. Most recently, Jones starred in the telenovela “Cabo,” airing from October 2022 through a month before her death.
