Becker County, MN (trfnews.i234.me)—Maurice Ivan Rodriquez, 28, of Minneapolis, has been sentenced in Becker County District Court for felony fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct. A more severe charge of first-degree criminal sexual conduct was dismissed as part of a plea agreement.
According to court records, on June 23, 2022, a Becker County sheriff’s investigator interviewed a woman who reported that her 14-year-old daughter had been sexually assaulted by Rodriquez on two occasions in Becker County—once in August 2021 and again in January 2022.
On July 30, District Judge Michelle Lawson sentenced Rodriquez to 18 months in prison at St. Cloud, with the sentence stayed for five years. He was ordered to serve 90 days in jail, receiving credit for 10 days already served. Additionally, Rodriquez was fined $1,000 plus $150 in court fees.
As part of his sentencing, Rodriquez must register as a sexual offender and adhere to several conditions, including:
- No contact with the victim or her family.
- Compliance with recommendations from a psychological-sexual evaluation.
- Submission to polygraph testing upon request.
- No unsupervised contact with individuals under 18 or vulnerable adults.
- Completion of outpatient sex offender treatment.
He will be on supervised probation for five years.
