Thief River Falls – Mary Larson, 74, of Thief River Falls, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 1, 2022 at Oakland Park Communities in Thief River Falls.
Marylou Irene Green was born on May 11, 1948 to Elmer and Irene (Sterger) Green Sr. in Crookston. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School in 1967.
She was a homemaker raising her four children until her son, James entered into adulthood, then she started working at Taco Johns. She found a great purpose and committed herself 100% to her job, whether it was greeting customers, cooking the meat, or cleaning tables, she made many friends and acquaintances over the 20 years she worked there.
In 2019, due to her dementia, she started living at Oakland Park Communities where she lived until her passing.
She loved animals, especially horses, and listening to her favorite music, especially Elvis and Ricky Nelson. She also loved going to rummage sales and loved to bake!
She is survived by her four children, Tammy (Brian) Weiland of Thief River Falls, Tawnya (Stephen) Tanner of Swan River, MB, Tara (William) Woytkiw of Benito, MB, and James Larson of Thief River Falls; seven grandchildren, Jordan (Mandy) Olson, Cailey (Eldon) Santillan, Marina Holmseth, Riley and Blake Woytkiw, Landon Larson and Carson Jensen; four great-grandchildren, Olivia Olson, Alison Smith, Bristol Garcia, and Levi Jones; her two brothers, Harold Green, John Green; and three sisters, Clara Nelson, Lois Erickson, and Laurie Wilson, all of Thief River Falls; half-sister, Marlene Joliff; aunt, Linda Brule; and several nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Sr. and Irene; her sister, Joy Lynn; brothers, Daniel, Henry, and Charles; sister-in-law, Midge Green; half-brothers, William and Elmer Jr.; and other relatives.
Mary will be deeply missed by all that loved and knew her.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, with Kent Hudson officiating.
Burial will be held at First Lutheran Cemetery in Middle River.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
