Maple Lake (trfnews.i234.me) – On December 11, 2025, at 6:24 AM, a collision occurred at the intersection of MN Hwy 55 and Spruce Ave in Maple Lake, Wright County. A 2016 Jeep Compass, driven by 47-year-old Maaret Kaatsep Petaisto of Buffalo, MN, was traveling westbound on Highway 55 when it collided with a 2014 Ford Edge, driven by 40-year-old Ryan Donald Lommel of Litchfield, MN. Lommel was northbound onto Spruce Ave when the two vehicles collided in the intersection.
Petaisto, the driver of the Jeep, was wearing her seat belt and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. She was transported to Buffalo Hospital for treatment. Lommel, the driver of the Ford Edge, was also wearing his seat belt and was uninjured in the crash.
The road conditions at the time were snow-covered and icy, which contributed to the crash. Wright County Sheriff’s Office, Maple Lake Fire Department, and Maple Lake Ambulance responded to the scene.
