Natawash, Manomen County (trfnews.i234.me) – A devastating Fourth of July tragedy unfolded in Natawash, Minnesota, when a 13-year-old boy was fatally injured in a fireworks accident late Thursday night.

According to Manomen County Sheriff Josh Gunther, officers were dispatched at 11:14 p.m. to a residence at 310 New Circle Drive in Nawash for a report of a young male struck by a firework. When authorities arrived, they found the boy, identified as Michael Turner, unresponsive with no pulse.

CPR was immediately initiated and continued by medics, but despite extensive life-saving efforts, Turner was pronounced dead at 12:07 a.m.

Witnesses reported that Turner had been holding a large firework and aimed it away from himself before lighting it. Tragically, the firework discharged downward through the tube, striking him directly in the chest. Another account indicated the tube itself may have impacted him. Turner collapsed, clutching his chest, as bystanders rushed to perform chest compressions.

The incident is still under investigation, and an autopsy is pending. Turner’s family has been notified of the heartbreaking loss.
