MANKATO, Nicollet County: Elderly Driver & 2 Others Injured in Highway 169 Collision | trfnews.i234.me

MANKATO, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me) – Emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 169 and Lake Street in Nicollet County on the afternoon of July 3rd.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2024 Chevrolet Equinox and a 2013 Subaru Forester, both southbound on Highway 169, collided around 4:38 p.m. The impact led to airbag deployment in both vehicles.

Three people were transported to the Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato with non-life-threatening injuries:

  • Shirley Ann Rau, 78, of Argyle, MN – driver of the Equinox

  • Anastasiia Antonova, 27, of Mankato, MN – driver of the Forester

  • Allen Eugene Warden, 74, of Altoona, IA – passenger in the Forester (not wearing a seat belt)

Road conditions were dry, and alcohol was not involved. Responding agencies included the Mankato Fire Department, DPS, and the Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office.
