a 24-year old Fort Totten man was sentenced to x’ day to 25 years in federal prison on drug trafficking and firearms charges in connection with an incident last February after leading authorities on a chase from Grand Forks to Hillsboro to Devil’s Lake on February second 2017 Daniel Michael 2hearts refused to pull over for a traffic offense near i29 near Grand Forks he then drove to Hillsboro then later left his vehicle and fired a handgun toward two officers who were not hit two hearts then fled on foot he stole another vehicle with a baby inside and was later found in Devil’s Lake after stealing a total of three vehicles during the spree during a standoff to hard shot himself in the chest and was apprehended and arrested officials found 5 ounces of pure meth near his abandoned vehicle near Hillsboro two hearts was sentenced as an armed career criminal with eight prior burglary convictions he was sentenced by Circuit Court judge Ralph Erickson in Fargo after his imprisonment two hearts will serve five years of supervised release he must also pay more than eight hundred dollars in special assessments and restitution
