Man from Minto, ND Receives Sentence in Sexual Assault Case

WALSH COUNTY, ND (trfnews.i234.me) A Minto, North Dakota man has been sentenced to 30 days of house arrest in a sex charge case.
samuel shutt of minto north dakota has been sentenced to 30 days of electronic monitoring house arrest in a sex charge case under a plea agreement two of three felony sexual assault charges were dismissed and he entered a wolford plea to the third charge meaning he does not admit guilt but believes there is enough evidence in the case for a possible conviction misdemeanor charges in the case were also dismissed for background on all this here’s our original report from december 23rd of 2021 right after the original charges were filed we have an update regarding a felony charge against 48 year old samuel shutt of minto north dakota he’s been charged with felony sexual assault in part reading from the criminal complaint quote the north dakota bureau of criminal investigation assisted the walsh county sheriff’s office in a case in which a juvenile reported shut uh allegedly sexually assaulted her the victim stated that on about may or june of 2020 shut approached the victim from behind and lifted up their shirt and sports bra expo exposing their breasts this incident occurred in the minto city shop uh within walsh county more recently on july 2nd of 2021 shut allegedly approached the victim and pulled down her pants leaving the victim standing in their underwear this incident also occurred in the minto city shop the during these incidents the victim was a minor over the age of 15. according to the criminal complaint uh shut did not deny the allegations but stated the incident when he pulled down the victim’s pants was not for the purpose of arousal and did not know why he did it shut referred to it as a bad joke when discussing the incident where the victim’s shirt and bra were lifted by shut shut initially stated that he did not recall lift lifting the victim’s shirt and bra shut recalled rubbing the victim’s shoulders and later admitted to lifting the victim’s shirt and bra shut eventually stated he was a horrible person shut could not explain his actions but stated he would do what he had to to make it right unquote that was from the criminal complaint again that was our report from last december now under a plea agreement he entered an alford plea to one count of sexual assault other charges were dismissed sentenced to 30 days of house arrest i’m Neil Berg reporting for trfnews.i234.me
