Man Charged with Murder of Minneapolis Mother, Injuring Toddler in Tragic Shooting

MINNEAPOLIS (trfnews.i234.me) – Months after the tragic shooting that claimed the life of 35-year-old Lilian Magali Poalacin Perez and injured her 2-year-old son, authorities have charged 20-year-old Ayale Abdullahi Ali with murder. On May 19, Minneapolis police responded to a shooting on the 2900 block of 18th Avenue South, where Perez was found in the backseat of a car, holding her toddler. She succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.

Surveillance footage revealed that Ali allegedly exited a vehicle and fired multiple shots into the car where Perez and her children were seated. The father of the children had stepped out moments earlier to borrow tools from a nearby home. Ali’s phone records placed him at the scene, and messages indicated he attempted to trade guns shortly after the incident. He now faces charges for the murder and the attempted killing of the family.
