Thief River Falls, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – On May 16, around 4:16 p.m., police were called to remove Santos Anthony Bower and others who were reportedly drinking at the Red Lake River dam. Bower, 34, of Thief River Falls, has been charged with felony third-degree controlled substance crime (possession of meth in a park zone) and disorderly conduct.
Upon arrest, Bower allegedly had a clear baggie with a dusting of meth and a bleeding cut on his forehead. He informed police he had been assaulted but did not provide further details. Bower then acted aggressively, argued, and threatened officers, claiming he could “beat any of them in a fight.”
During transport, Bower repeatedly banged his head on the squad car window. He was taken to Sanford Medical Center for his head injury but continued to be disorderly and refused medical care. After being medically cleared, Bower kicked a sheriff’s deputy in the chest while being placed in a restraint chair at the jail. He was transported back to the Emergency Room for a full medical clearance, where he resisted care until sedated. Following sedation, Bower ceased resisting care.
