Mahnomen County (trfnews.i234.me) – A 20-year-old Mahnomen man is facing felony assault charges following a violent confrontation that took place in a garage on July 6, 2025.

Steven Chase Leslie III has been charged with 2nd-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, a felony punishable by up to 7 years in prison and/or a $14,000 fine.

According to the criminal complaint, Lt. Anderson was dispatched to 312 S Main St, Mahnomen, for a report of an active fight. Upon arrival, officers found two victims, Dylan Anderson and Alex Beaulieu, both bleeding with visible injuries. Witnesses and victims stated that a group, including Leslie, Elias, Elijah Thompson, and the Clark twins, entered the garage yelling and allegedly seeking revenge for a previous incident.

The situation quickly escalated. Leslie, identified as the individual with long hair, was reportedly seen holding a hammer and actively fighting. Meanwhile, another individual wielded a banana-shaped silver knife, allegedly handed off by Elijah Thompson, and made stabbing motions toward Dylan. Officers later detained all the involved parties.

Leslie remains in custody on an order of detention.
