Prosecutors charged Keith Vernon Bigeagle, 38, with third-degree criminal sexual conduct and domestic assault. The complaint was filed in Minnesota’s 9th Judicial District. The court file is 44-CR-26-120.

What the complaint says
According to the complaint, officers responded to a home on County Road 12 after an assault report. Bigeagle met them outside the residence, the filing said. He told officers he wanted a woman removed from the home. He also denied hurting her, according to the complaint.
Inside, officers spoke with a woman identified in court records as GP. GP said the couple had argued about their relationship. She said the dispute had turned physical over several days. GP told officers Bigeagle slapped her and hit the back of her head. The complaint says an officer felt a lump where GP said she was struck.
GP also accused Bigeagle of forced sexual penetration, according to the complaint. She said the act was not consensual and caused pain. The filing states she agreed to go to a hospital for an exam.

The complaint says Bigeagle was arrested at the scene. After his arrest, he denied recent sexual contact, the filing said. During transport, he later admitted to sexual contact but said it was consensual.
What happens next
Court records show Count I is a felony. The complaint lists a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison, a $30,000 fine, or both. Count II is a misdemeanor. The complaint lists a maximum penalty of 90 days in jail, a $1,000 fine, or both.
