Mahnomen County Collision: 7 Injured Including 2 Children in Snowy Head-On Crash on Highway 59

Popple Grove Township, Mahnomen County (trfnews.i234.me) — A head-on crash on icy Highway 59 in Mahnomen County sent seven people to area hospitals Sunday evening — including two young girls — in one of the most chilling weather-related collisions of the day.

🕙 The crash occurred at 7:08 p.m. when a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado, heading northbound, collided with a 2024 Buick Encore traveling southbound near mile post 293.


🚗 Individuals Involved:

🔹 Chevrolet Silverado (Airbags Deployed):

  • Driver: Allissa Grace Warren, 30, Waubun – Non-life-threatening injuries, Mahnomen Hospital

  • Passenger: Mahlynda Marie Burnette Warren, 19, Bejou – Injured

  • Passenger: Katrina Jo Smith, 9, Redby – Injured

  • Passenger: Nikita Pearl Smith, 12, Redby – Injured

🔹 Buick Encore (Airbags Deployed):

  • Driver: Reyna Cruz Gonzalez Rivera, 37, Redby – Treated at Essentia ER

  • Passenger: Shelley Ann English, 62, Redby – Transported to Sanford Fargo

Everyone was wearing seatbelts, and no alcohol was involved, according to officials.

The icy conditions were a major factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
