Linda R. Stauss, 83, of Baudette, MN and formerly of East Grand Forks, MN passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March 24, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Linda Rae Evanson was born on July 5, 1941, in Grand Forks, ND, the daughter of Palmer “Percy” and Lillian (Christianson) Evanson. She attended East Grand Forks Central High School. Linda married her high school sweetheart, Ron Stauss on July 15, 1961, at Mendenhall Presbyterian Church in East Grand Forks. Ron passed away on September 29, 2015. Together, they raised two children and spent many happy weekends traveling to Lake of the Woods. While living in East Grand Forks, her favorite job was at Wonder Years Daycare because she loved being around young children. Upon retirement, they moved to Lake of The Woods and made it their home. Linda treasured her grandchildren and loved attending their sporting events, often going one direction with Ronnie while their parents went another. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and playing cards and dice with her sisters and grandchildren. She loved spending time in her yard, going for walks, and taking care of her children’s dogs. She will be remembered for her kindness, patience and loving heart.
Linda will live on in the hearts of her family and loved ones. Her remaining family includes a daughter, Jill and Tim Mack, Roosevelt, MN; and a son, William and Roberta Stauss, East Grand Forks, MN; her dearly loved grandchildren, Cody and Jackie Mack, Jake Mack and Candice, Josh and Brianna Mack, Coby Stauss and Mckenna, Kylie Stauss and Josh. Great grandchildren, Lauren and Harold Mack and sisters, Johanna Theige, Carole Hagness and Donna Jacobson, along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ron, sisters, Kathy, Betty and Lois, brothers, Paul and John and brothers-in-law, Tom, Bob and Kenny.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2025, in Mendenhall Presbyterian Church, 528 10th St. NW, East Grand Forks, MN.
Visitation: One hour prior to the funeral service in the church on Saturday.
Burial: In the spring of 2025, in Riverside Cemetery, Oslo, MN.
