Linda Babinski – Obituary

Linda Babinski, age 77, of rural Warsaw passed away Monday, Jan. 6, 2025 at Unity Medical Center in Grafton.

 

Linda Sue Leedahl was born Sept. 18, 1947, to Marvin and Thelma (Tansather) Leedahl in Grafton. She attended school in Grafton and graduated from the University of North Dakota.

 

Linda a divorced mother of two sons, raised her children in Grafton. She worked as a social worker at Health Service Center at the Development Center in Grafton and later as a program coordinator. She did consulting work and court at litum work for Northeast Judicial Court. She received an appointment from Governor John Hoeven to the State Development Council. 

 

She was an active member of Federated Church where she sang in the choir and participated in Federated Women. She was active in the community with hockey moms, park board and other activities supporting youth sports. She enjoyed swimming, golf and spending time with friends. She married Gary Babinski on Nov. 6, 1993, and moved to the farm east of Warsaw. Linda continued playing bridge in Minto. After several years she joined the Catholic Church and was an active member of St. Stanislaus Church in Warsaw where she sang in the choir and was active in the altar society. Upon her retirement she worked part time at the juvenile court in Grafton and continued to do guardian at litum for the court. She enjoyed farm life where she did gardening, yard work, supported special community projects, traveled and enjoyed time with family, especially with her eight grandchildren.

 

Linda was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jack (Glenna), Terry and Dan (Cindy). 

 

She is survived by her sons, Todd (Mary) Morgan and Rilie (Ashley) Morgan; her husband Gary, only sister, Bonnie (Rick) Knudsvig; and grandchildren, Anthony, Peter, Josephine, Matthias, Boden, Eliza, Kipp and Henry, whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Glenna Leedahl and Donna (LeRoy) Kuta and their family.

 

Services will be held Saturday, Jan. 11 at 10:30 a.m., St. Stanislaus Church of Warsaw with visitation one hour prior to the services. Interment will be held in the spring at St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
