Lawsuit Against Ticketmaster

WASHINGTON D.C. (trfnews.i234.me) – The U.S. Justice Department has launched a significant antitrust lawsuit against Ticketmaster and its parent company, Live Nation Entertainment. The lawsuit, filed on Thursday in New York, accuses the companies of maintaining an illegal monopoly over live events in the United States, which allegedly results in higher prices for fans and limits opportunities for smaller promoters and artists.

Brought forward with the support of 30 state and district attorneys general, the lawsuit aims to dismantle what it describes as a monopolistic grip on the live music industry. The Justice Department alleges that Live Nation engages in practices that unfairly maintain its dominance in the market.

Live Nation has denied any wrongdoing, stating that it does not engage in practices that violate antitrust laws.
