Moorhead ( trfnews.i234.me ) – We have the latest information from Moorhead Police regarding a report of shots fired on Wednesday. The situation remains active as officers continue their investigation near the 1800 block of 20th Street South.
According to Sergeant Joe Brennan, the incident began around 9:30 a.m. An officer was performing a follow-up at a building in the area. As the officer approached, he heard what sounded like a gunshot. The officer immediately called for additional units.
Out of caution, a large police presence was deployed. Officers used several tools to assess the scene, including a drone and a Bearcat armored vehicle. The area was quickly secured while officers worked to determine what had happened.
A shelter-in-place notification was issued for the area between 12th Avenue South and 24th Avenue South from 14th Street to 26th Street. Police say this was done to ensure public safety while they checked the surrounding neighborhood.
As of now, the Moorhead Police report that the investigation is ongoing. There is no further information about suspects, injuries, or whether a gunshot was confirmed. Officers are asking the public to continue avoiding the area until the scene is fully cleared.
This is a developing situation. TRF News will provide updates when new information becomes available.
