On September 23, 2022, a Becker County officer stopped Savig’s vehicle on Highway 10. During the stop, Savig was seen trying to stash something and later admitted to having marijuana in a lunchbox. A search revealed 150 tabs of LSD.

For this charge, Judge Thilmony sentenced Savig to 68 months in prison at St. Cloud, stayed for five years. He was ordered to serve 90 days in jail, with credit for six days served, and fined $500 plus $75 in court fees.
