Lake County (trfnews.i234.me) — Evan Warren Edblom, 20, of Duluth Township, has been charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct following an alleged incident involving a 12-year-old girl in January 2025. According to court documents, the girl reported that she and Edblom engaged in sexual intercourse at his residence in Two Harbors. Edblom denied full sexual intercourse but admitted to inappropriate involvement with the minor, stating it was “wrong.”
The investigation began after Edblom’s girlfriend discovered him cuddling with the girl. Initially, the child denied any sexual activity, but later disclosed the details to her mother during a forensic interview at the First Witness Child Advocacy Center. Edblom, while incarcerated at the St. Louis County Jail for an unrelated shooting incident, admitted to using and selling drugs and connecting with the girl via Snapchat.
If convicted, Edblom faces a presumptive sentence of 12 years in prison for a first-time offender.
