Pennington County (trfnews.i234.me) – In the early hours of May 3, 2025, a routine traffic stop near Highway 59 and 130th Street Northeast in Pennington County led to the arrest of Shane Scott Stone, 52, of Karlstad. Stone now faces multiple felony charges, including third-degree controlled substance possession, introduction of contraband into a correctional facility, and fourth-degree DWI under the influence of a controlled substance.
According to the criminal complaint, officers observed signs of impairment upon interacting with Stone. A subsequent search of his vehicle revealed a backpack containing a glass pipe with burnt residue, hypodermic needles, and a digital scale—both the pipe and scale tested presumptively positive for methamphetamine. Additionally, a small container with illegally packaged marijuana was found.
Stone consented to a blood sample under a search warrant. During the pre-booking process at the correctional facility, a torn plastic bag containing a crystalline substance was discovered on his person. This substance also tested presumptively positive for methamphetamine and weighed approximately 19.4 grams. When confronted, Stone reportedly stated, “What do you want from me? I am a drug addict.”
