Kandiyohi County (trfnews.i234.me)A tragic incident unfolded late Monday night in Willmar, Minnesota, when a teenage boy was fatally shot in what authorities believe was a targeted attack. The Willmar Police Department responded to reports of gunfire around 11 p.m. on May 12 in the 1800 block of 7th Avenue Southeast.

Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive juvenile male. Despite immediate lifesaving efforts by medical personnel, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have indicated that the shooting does not appear to be random, suggesting the victim was specifically targeted. There is no ongoing threat to the public at this time.

The area was secured, and investigators conducted a thorough search for evidence and potential witnesses. The victim’s identity has not been released pending family notification.
