On February 27, 2025, the Roseau County Sheriff’s Office arrested 36-year-old Jonathan L. Johnson on serious allegations of criminal sexual conduct involving a minor. Johnson faces two felony counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, specifically for penetration under 16 with a significant relationship and multiple acts. These charges are classified as felonies, each carrying a total bail amount of $0.00.
The arrest stems from allegations that Johnson engaged in repeated sexual abuse of a young girl in Roseau County between 2016 and 2019. The victim, now 11 years old, reported the abuse during an interview at the Red River Child Advocacy Center in Fargo. She stated that the abuse occurred when she was between four and six years old. During the investigation, Johnson reportedly acknowledged that his actions were wrong and expressed remorse, noting that the victim was between four and six years old at the time of the incidents.
Johnson’s initial court appearance is scheduled for March 3, 2025. Currently, he remains in custody, with bail set at $0.00. The Roseau County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the case. Community members are urged to contact local law enforcement if they have any pertinent information related to this case.
