Jolene Rae Johnson (nee Anderson), 78, formerly of Grand Forks, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on February 16, 2026, in Valley Center, CA.
Jolene was born on October 24, 1947, in Grand Forks. She moved to CA in 1971 and devoted nearly 50 years to her nursing career in both CA and ND. In 2000, she returned to Grand Forks, where she lived until 2025. Last year, she moved to her daughter in CA.
Over the years, she found great joy in sewing and crafting with her sister, Sharon Borgen, to create and sell handmade items. Jolene especially loved making heirloom Christmas stockings for family members.
Jolene is survived by her daughter, Andrea (husband Chris) Gustafson; granddaughter, Emily (fiancé Jonah Baima); and grandson, Ivan.
Jolene’s legacy of compassion, creativity, and love will endure in the hearts of her family and all whose lives she touched.
