JAMESTOWN, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me) — On December 3, 2024, Devin Quinn Fontenot, 27, was identified as the suspect involved in an active shooter incident outside Fred’s Den in Jamestown. According to police, Fontenot, armed with a gun and knife, had been involved in a physical altercation at the bar before being escorted outside. A 911 call at 1:17 a.m. reported him shooting at a building from the parking lot.

Upon arrival, officers found Fontenot still firing rounds. He refused to comply with commands to drop his weapons, endangering the officer and others. A five-year veteran of the Jamestown Police Department then shot Fontenot. Afterward, first aid was administered, and Fontenot was transported to Jamestown Regional Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries. The incident is under investigation by the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
