NORTH DAKOTA (trfnews.i234.me) — A Jamestown man is facing serious legal trouble after a dangerous wrong-way crash involving three vehicles on Interstate 94 in Barnes County on the evening of Saturday, September 14th.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports that around 8:39 p.m., a Ford Escape was seen heading westbound in the eastbound lane of I-94, roughly three miles southeast of Sanborn. A U-Haul truck and a Buick, both traveling eastbound, had to make quick evasive maneuvers to avoid a head-on collision with the wrong-way driver.
Although both the U-Haul and Buick successfully dodged a direct impact, they were sideswiped by the Ford. The vehicle finally came to a stop in the south ditch of the highway.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported. However, the 39-year-old Jamestown man behind the wheel of the Ford has been charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol (DUI) and Reckless Endangerment.
The incident remains under investigation as authorities work to determine further details of the crash.
