Itasca County (trfnews.i234.me) — A tragic police chase early Sunday morning has left a teenage girl dead after she led Itasca County authorities on a high-speed pursuit through Cohasset Township, Minnesota.
The incident began when a sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a vehicle observed driving without headlights. Rather than pulling over, the juvenile female behind the wheel fled the scene, triggering a dangerous chase.
The pursuit ended near Highway 6 and County Road 11, where the fleeing vehicle crashed violently. According to investigators, the teen was the only person in the car, and she was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.
