A Regular Meeting of Independent School District #564 Board of Education was held on Monday, April 10, 2023, beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the DSC board room. The following board members were present: Misty Hempel, Chris Melbye, Wayne Nomeland, Michelle Westerman, and Kayla Lian. Absent: Ryan Walseth and Mike Spears.
Staff members present were: Dr. Paula Henry, Melissa Bushy, Mike Wienen, Scott Brekke, Sara Olson, Reid Froiland, and Mary Fran Twistol.
Also present were: Jillian Neibaur, Marlene Anderson, and Dave Hill.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Vice-Chair Hempel called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. The pledge of allegiance was recited. Clerk Melbye confirmed that a quorum was present.
A motion was made by Wayne Nomeland and seconded by Kayla Lian to approve the March 27, 2023 agenda, as presented. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Chris Melbye and seconded by Michelle Westerman to approve the bills as submitted and on file in the School District Business Office. Motion carried.

A. Committee Report:
1. Finance – Chris Melbye provided a recap from the April 3, 2023 Finance Committee meeting.
B. Superintendent’s Report:
1. Dr. Paula Henry gave a quick update of this past week’s work and also some items coming up. Dr.
Henry reviewed the presentation that was given at the LTPAC meeting on March 9.
Business Action Items:
A. A motion was made by Michelle Westerman and seconded by Wayne Nomeland to approve the consent
agenda as presented, and as appropriate, per negotiated contract, salary and benefits and an acceptable
background check. Motion carried.
Personnel:
1. Accept the resignation of Rachel Hatherlee, Special Education Paraprofessional, effective
March 28, 2023.

A. The next LTPAC meeting will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2023 @ 7 am in the LHS Training Center.
