Is There a Chance the Vikings Bench Sam Darnold?

Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Minnesota Vikings fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.

It is, once again, time to take the pulse of Minnesota Vikings fans by asking them what they think about things that are happening with the team. This week, we’ve only got a couple of questions for you, because. . .well, we’d rather not talk about what we saw this past Sunday anymore, because that was ugly.

We have our standard question about whether or not you think the team is moving in the right direction. Yes, the team won this past weekend but it was pretty darn ugly and might not inspire a lot of confidence in folks, so I’m curious to see what happens to our number for this week.

The other question has to do with the play of quarterback Sam Darnold. Over the past two weeks, Darnold has been responsible for six turnovers (five interceptions and a lost fumble that was returned for a touchdown). Yes, the Vikings won both of those games because of Brian Flores’ defense and the fact that both opposing offenses were stunningly inept. Yes, those things are probably connected in some way.

But do you think there’s any chance that the Vikings send Darnold to the bench for any reason other than injury? There isn’t really a whole lot behind him, to be honest, since we all know that current backup Nick Mullens has his own issues with giving the football to the other team. J.J. Mccarthy isn’t an option for this season, so the Vikings are either rolling with Darnold or turning to Mullens at some point.

As always, we invite you to vote in our survey for this week and make your voice heard in the comments section. We will have the results of this week’s survey up sometime before Sunday’s game in Tennessee.

Have at it, everybody!
