Irene C. Gray, 94 of Grand Forks, North Dakota died Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at her home.
Irene was born on August 6, 1929, the daughter of William and Margaret (Sigurdson) Lewis in West Allis, Wisconsin. She was raised in Grand Forks and graduated from Central High School. Irene was married to Truman Taylor and together had a son. Robert was her only child, “Because she did it right the first time.” She later married Jack Gray “the love of her life” in Grand Forks.
Irene worked at The Make-Believe Room, where she sewed and decorated costumes. She also worked at various thrift stores throughout the years and made many lifelong friends.
Irene enjoyed collecting items with sunflowers on it. She loved to visit and enjoyed eating out with her friends. Irene was always there to keep things interesting among her friends.
Irene is survived by her grandson, Brian (Kasia) Taylor, granddaughter, Lisa (Dan) Favor; great-granddaughter, Becka Favor and special friends, Andrea Loar and John May.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents, son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Rose Taylor, granddaughter, Allison Taylor, two brothers, William and Frank Lewis and sister, Margaret Lewis.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 7, 2024, at Amundson Funeral Home. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 7, 2024, at Amundson Funeral Home.
