FARGO, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – Cass County Sheriff Jesse Joner has announced that the investigation into former deputy Darin Viken has been turned over to the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation. Viken, who served as the 24/7 program coordinator and was a 19-year veteran of the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, was placed on administrative leave on July 17th and subsequently terminated on July 22nd. The sheriff’s office has not disclosed the reasons for Viken’s dismissal but confirmed that the 24/7 sobriety program has been operational since 2009, with Viken serving as coordinator since November 2015. Further details, including dash cam footage, are part of the ongoing investigation.
