Intense Chase: Propane Tank Hurled at Deputy’s Car

CLAY COUNTY, MN (trfnews.i234.me) Clay County Deputies and other law enforcement vehicle had a wild pursuit of 2 suspects south of Moorhead Tuesday night. At one point the suspects threw a propane tank at a Deputy.
we had a wild police chase uh just south of moorhead on a tuesday evening uh this in from sheriff clay county sheriff mark empty who says at uh 10 40 p.m deputies tried to stop a vehicle near the roundabout at 60th avenue on highway 75 for no tail lights and the vehicle took off the driver of the vehicle did not stop for the emergency lights in accelerate accelerated away from the deputy in a pursuit ensued down on highway 75 with speeds of 80 to 100 miles per hour at times no other traffic was on the roadway the driver of the vehicle began slowing in the area of uh highway 75 and 160th avenue near comstock at which time a deputies attempted to disable the vehicle it was not successful and the vehicle once again turned around and proceeded northbound on highway 75 other deputies and minnesota state troopers on highway 75 then deployed stop sticks to deflate the tires of the fleeing vehicle this was successful but the driver continued to flee northbound on highway 75. the occupants of the vehicle then began throwing items out of the vehicle at the pursuing deputies some of the items were a floor jack and a propane tank the propane tank did not catch fire and deputies were able to maneuver around the items the driver was not able to properly navigate around the roundabout at highway 75 and 60th avenue the driver drove over the top of the roundabout which slowed the vehicle down uh once the drive vehicle was back on the roadway a deputy was able to successfully conduct a pit maneuver on it the vehicle entered the ditch and the two occupants were taken into custody without incident the driver terrell jones 24 years old from moorhead was taken into custody for felony fleeing a peace officer second degree assault felon in possession of ammunition uh currently being held at the clay county jail passenger 29 year old christopher cloud of moorhead uh was taken into custody for second-degree assault he’s also being held at the clay county correctional facility the sheriff’s office was assisted by the minnesota state patrol and morehead police department with this incident i’m Neil Berg reporting for trfnews.i234.me
