Ault Township, MN (trfnews.i234.me)A fast-moving wildfire, dubbed the Camp House Fire, erupted Sunday afternoon in Ault Township, northeast of Brimson, Minnesota. First reported around 1:15 p.m. near the 2200 block of Highway 44, the blaze rapidly expanded, consuming over 750 acres by late evening and prompting the evacuation of several dozen residents.

The fire, fueled by dry conditions and gusty winds, has destroyed multiple structures, including cabins and garages. Despite the extensive property damage, no injuries have been reported.

Firefighting efforts are being led by local departments from Brimson, Pequaywan Township, North Star Township, Lakewood Township, and Normanna Township, with support from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, U.S. Forest Service, St. Louis County Rescue Squad, and St. Louis County Emergency Management. Aerial resources, including a C-130 air tanker from Brainerd and a CH-47 Chinook helicopter from Ely, have been deployed to combat the flames.

The Ault Town Hall has been designated as an evacuation center for displaced residents. Authorities are urging the public to avoid the area to ensure the safety of both residents and emergency personnel.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Officials emphasize the importance of adhering to fire safety guidelines, especially during periods of high fire risk.
