Clearwater County, MN (trfnews.i234.me) — In the early hours of Friday, May 30, 2025, an Amish buggy carrying an adult and two juveniles was allegedly targeted and struck by an impaired driver approximately 1.5 miles west of Clearbrook, Minnesota. The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m.
According to radio traffic from first responders, a 911 caller reported that a vehicle had hit an Amish buggy near a local dump site. Upon arrival, deputies found the buggy but no immediate sign of the vehicle involved. Further investigation revealed that the suspect’s vehicle had rolled into a nearby field. The driver fled the scene on foot and, as of Sunday night, remained at large.
Eyewitness accounts suggest that the driver, believed to be impaired, honked their horn and circled the buggy multiple times before intentionally colliding with it. Fortunately, the adult driver and two juvenile passengers of the buggy did not sustain serious injuries.
The Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the incident. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
