Ice rescue in progress on Upper Red Lake in Northern Minnesota on Sunday

UPPER RED LAKE, MN (trfnews.i234.me) An ice rescue is underway at 6:30 pm on this Sunday on Upper Red Lake in Northern Minnesota. Around 15 ice fishermen found themselves trapped on the ice, when water opened up between them and the resort.
Neil Berg here with the breaking news update at 6:30 p.m. on a Sunday an update on those ice fishermen uh who were trapped out on upper Red Lake on the North side out from Red Lake remote Resort uh ice or water came in between them and the resort I don’t know if ice sheet broke away I just talked with uh someone up at the resort I didn’t catch his name but he says rescue crews are there now and it’s going smoothly using uh both airboats to evacuate them and leave their things on the ice for tonight uh but those ice fishermen are being taken off the lake now and everything appears to be going safely earlier it sounded like as many as 15 ice fishermen were uh trapped out there uh but Crews from multiple fire departments now on the scene uh getting them off you’re looking at a photo here from uh uh two days ago from uh remote Resort Red Lake remote Resort out on the ice there uh we’ll have an update uh if anything significant else happens with this but it sounds like things are going okay I’m Neil Berg reporting for in trfnews.i234.me
