An ICE agent was filmed pushing Minneapolis City Council President Elliott Payne during a confrontation with protesters in northeast Minneapolis on Monday.
Video captured by Council Member Jason Chavez shows an officer pushing Payne and another individual on a public sidewalk near a bus stop. Payne wrote on Instagram that agents had indiscriminately stopped a citizen prior to the incident.
“If this is how they treat the President of the Minneapolis City Council who is legally observing, just think of what they’re doing to everyone else in our city,” he said.
