I-35 Collision in Steele County Sends Two Owatonna Residents to Hospital – trfnews.i234.me

Somerset Township, MN (trfnews.i234.me) — On Saturday, May 10, 2025, at approximately 9:29 a.m., a two-vehicle collision occurred on southbound Interstate 35 near Mile Marker 32 in Somerset Township, Steele County. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2017 Volkswagen Passat and a 2019 Buick Enclave were both traveling southbound when they collided and struck the median cables.

The driver of the Volkswagen Passat, 77-year-old Donita Kathleen Eisen of Owatonna, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Owatonna E.R. for treatment. The driver of the Buick Enclave, 69-year-old Sheri Ann Benjamin of Owatonna, also sustained non-life-threatening injuries but did not require hospitalization. A passenger in the Buick Enclave, 68-year-old Dale Lloyd Benjamin of Owatonna, was uninjured.

Emergency responders from the Steele County Sheriff’s Office, Ellendale Ambulance, and Ellendale Fire Department assisted at the scene. Road conditions were reported as dry, and all individuals involved were wearing seat belts. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
