Hubbard County (trfnews.i234.me) – A Crookston woman has been charged with multiple felonies, including first-degree arson and burglary, following a fire that destroyed a sauna at a rural Hubbard County residence on July 16, 2025.

Charges Filed
According to court documents, 35-year-old Ramona Lee Anne Kaiser is accused of intentionally setting fire to a building used as a dwelling and unlawfully entering the property. She faces two counts of first-degree arson and two counts of first-degree burglary. The charges carry potential sentences of up to 20 years in prison and fines ranging from $17,500 to $35,000.

Incident Overview
Deputies responded to a structure fire at 14241 County 14 in Hubbard County shortly after 7 a.m. A sauna connected to the property was fully engulfed in flames when officers arrived. The property owner, Eleanor Caroline Warmbold, reported seeing an unknown woman walking on her property shortly before discovering broken glass at an entry door.

Suspect Apprehension
Deputies located a woman matching the description, later identified as Kaiser, walking on U.S. Highway 71. Witnesses reported she was behaving erratically, removing clothing, and entering traffic. Officers noted signs of impairment and detained her.

During questioning, Kaiser admitted to breaking into the residence seeking help and later starting the fire using gasoline and matches from the property. Investigators recovered evidence, including a gas can, burned materials, and bottles not belonging to the homeowner.

Witness Statements
Multiple witnesses, including passing motorists and fire personnel, confirmed seeing a woman near the property before and after the fire. A photographic lineup was conducted during the investigation.

Prior Criminal History
Court records show Kaiser has previous convictions for gross misdemeanor DWI test refusals in 2012 and 2022.

Kaiser remains in custody under an order of detention.
