Nevis, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me) – A Park Rapids area rodeo turned chaotic early July 6 when a man reportedly pulled a gun on someone during an altercation.
According to court records, Ryan James Thompson, of Nevis, allegedly pointed a firearm at another man during a dispute just east of town around 1:49 a.m. Deputies responded, and Thompson was later located and arrested at a residence in Nevis.
Authorities found a handgun in his vehicle, and Thompson is now charged with:

Felony assault with a dangerous weapon

Misdemeanor DWI
His record includes prior convictions for:

Possessing a dangerous weapon

Discharging a firearm within city limits

Possessing a pistol without a permit

Domestic assault
Thompson remains in custody as charges move forward.
