How Does Former Viking Cousins Rank After Minnesota Departure?

Kirk Cousins departed the Minnesota Vikings this past offseason in free agency and opted to join the Atlanta Falcons on a lucrative contract.

While it was tough news in the moment, both the Falcons and Vikings have moved on, and both teams are out to solid starts this season.

Cousins got off to a terrible start in Atlanta, with the Falcons falling to Pittsburgh in the season opener, and a ton of questions followed regarding the veteran’s mobility.

Since that time, Cousins and the Falcons have continued to impress, and the team is now in sole possession of the NFC South, and a playoff spot with a mark of 6-4.

Here’s a look at where Cousins currently ranks across the NFL in a wide variety of Quarterback categories:

Completion Percentage – 68.2% – 12th

Passing Yards – 2,634 – 3rd

Passing Yards Per Game – 263.4 – 5th

Yards Per Attempt – 7.9 – 9th

Touchdown Passes – 17 – T-4th

Interceptions – 8 – T-7th

Sacks Taken – 20 – T-16th

QBR (ESPN) – 57.9 – 13th

Quarterback Rating – 98.9 – 12th

Cousins appears to be right around his career averages this season. If you extrapolate the stats out over 17 games, he will finish with:

4,477 passing yards, 29 passing touchdowns, and 14 interceptions

That would be Cousins’ 3rd most passing yards in a season ever but would fall short of his season high in touchdown passes. Cousins has tossed 29 or more touchdowns 5 times prior in his career.

Kirk Cousins and the Atlanta Falcons take on the Denver Broncos in Week 11 in Denver, a 3:05 start time.

Minnesota Vikings In The Super Bowl? Yep, I Can Remember All Four

It’s that time of year, the time when everyone is talking about the NFL’s upcoming Super Bowl.
It may be hard to believe, but there was a time when the Minnesota Vikings went to the Super Bowl.

And then they went again. And then again. And then again. Hey, we were one of the greatest teams of all time!

Unfortunately, it was the same time the Vikings lost the Super Bowl. And then again. And then again. And then again. Well, at least we must have been one of the second-best teams of all time!

For a whole lot of Vikings fans…you know, the ones who walk around with younger bones…the Vikings have never been to the Super Bowl.

Then there’s the ol’ dog that is me. I remember the first time… and the second… and the third… and the fourth.
